SST PETITION TO COUNCIL

The petition signed by 1,137 Shoreline residents was presented to Council on Monday, October 27, 2025, during public comment.

This petition reads:

“To increase the City of Shoreline’s existing tree canopy, we support the preservation of existing healthy trees and the equivalent tree canopy replacement for trees cut down on private and public land and in public parks.”

Our remaining mature tree canopy is precious. We ask Council to protect and preserve established trees, especially evergreen and native trees, and replace the trees cut down with trees of a similar species and equivalent canopy at maturity.
