SST UPDATES
January 27, 2025. Protection of trees 60” DBH on Town Center Zones 3 and 4. Shoreline City Council passed Ordinance 1031, a six month interim ordinance prohibiting the removal of trees 60” diameter at breast height (DBH) and greater on Town Center Zones 3 and 4. Council will discuss this Ordinance on June 23, 2025.
March 2, 2025. Residential Tree Code. Shoreline City Council passed Resolution 541, a revision to the fee schedule pertaining to the fee in lieu for removal of trees 24” DBH and greater.
May 12, 2025. Public Tree inventory and Street Tree Management Plan. Shoreline City Council approved a contract with Facet NW in the amount of $189,700 to consult on a public tree inventory and create a street tree management plan.
June 2025. Save Shoreline Trees launched a petition drive to gather signatures of residents of Shoreline who want to maintain and increase Shoreline’s tree canopy. The petition will be presented to City Council. This is an effort to demonstrate there are hundreds of Shoreline residents who are concerned about tree loss in Shoreline. June 2, 2025. Tree Code Update. Shoreline City Council approved a contract with Facet NW for $200,000 to consult on the Tree Code Update pertaining to private trees on residential zones.
June 23, 2025. Protection of trees 60” DBH and greater on Town Center Zones 3 and 4. Shoreline City Council to discuss Ordinance 1036 prohibiting the removal of trees 60” DBH and greater on Town Center Zones 3 and 4.
July 14, 2025. Council extended protection of trees 60” DBH and greater on Town Center Zones 3 and 4 for six months.
